I Dare You..The 30 Day Challenge (Starts June 1st)
I'm looking for 10 people or more to join me in a 30 day challenge beginning June 1 and ending June 30. The challenge is to walk 1 mile everyday; nothing more, nothing less. The challenge is all about discipline, accomplishing small goals and support / accountability.
Here is how it will work:
On Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 at 6p.m. (pick one date that works best for you) I will offer a complimentary 45min group coaching session over the phone (just in case you did not know, i'm a certified life / transition coach). The goal of the call is to create solidarity, establish personal goals and use our collective energy to knock down any excuses that may stop us from achieving our 30 day goal. The Conference number: 712-432-1680, Access code: 592654#. Please RSVP to bruny@runthepoint.com with your email address so I can send you an invite to the Facebook group page.
Starting June 1st there will be a Facebook group page just for the folks who decided to take on the "30 DAY CHALLENGE" with me. On this group page there will be: An Opening Day section where you can write any goals you may have (complete walking a mile in a certain amount of time or weight you may want to lose or simply just accomplish the discipline of doing this everyday), as well as how you plan on rewarding yourself after Day 30.
Daily Check-in on the Facebook group with the following information: 1. Did you walk your 1mile today?(Yes or No) 2. If no, what got in the way. 3. Any other discoveries you want to share.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why in heavens name is he doing this? Honestly, I did not want to do it alone. I'm going for the 30 day challenge and as I was in my favorite thinking location, the shower, I thought it would be great to share it with others. The opportunity to have folks take on a small goal, share it with others and report out day-to-day to motivate and inspire each other was just too tempting for me to resist.
Why in heavens name does he think I will do this? Because I know deep down inside we are all looking to do great things. The greatest things start with a small step. This will serve as fuel for whatever is next for you. It will let you know that you can build a supportive community who will actually walk with you, no pun intended, as you reach for your goals.
I don't even know how to calculate a mile?
Neither did I...at first. Here are a couple of ways to figure it out:
-Drive around using your car's odometer to figure out how far you need to go to reach your 1 mile goal (I just did this when I went home to see my mom in Brooklyn.)
-If you are really into counting steps, a mile is 5,280 feet
-visit walkjogrun.net and view walking routes or create your own before you head out of your home.
See you on the conference call on Saturday or Sunday.
