Jay-Z, Warren Buffet, Steve Forbes and Ambassador Bruny

What do all the names in the title have in common? It's not the bank account...yet (I have a little bit of catching up to do). What it is a sense of purpose, drive and a philosophy around personal growth as something no one can ever take away from you. Check out the Ambassador Bruny favorites below and check out the video (Length: 52mins)

These gentleman give me something to aspire to and I love it. They dropped a whole lot of knowledge. Here are some of the Ambassador Bruny favorites:

The words of Jay-Z:
  • Sometimes it's just a little attention that does the trick in the life of someone young
  • Exposure let's your imagination grow.
  • His first album was at 26yrs old so he had some maturity
  • Stay true to yourself and don't just write for an audience.
  • Stick to what you know. Don't just jump on the next hot thing.
  • "Discipline and Confidence in who I am; and if I go into a studio and I find my truth of the moment there are a number of people in the world that can relate to what I'm saying and buy-in to what i'm doing; not because it's the new thing of the moment, but because it's my genuine emotions; it's how I articulate the world."

The words of Warren Buffet:
  • It's important to understand the underlying principles.
  • Knowledge is cumulative. What he learned at 20 is still in use as is what he learned at 25, etc.
  • Speaks about creating a moat to separate yourself from competition:
  • "The best moat you can have is your own talent. No one can take that away from you. Inflation can't take it away from you; taxes can't take it away from you."
  • Develop / improve yourself and you increase your value.
  • "You've got the brain power, you've got the energy, develop the habits of success."
  • Look at the people you admire and list what attributes you admire in them. Whatever those attributes are, they can be learned.
  • Cost of living and standard of living are not the same thing.
