The best kind of love that has worked best for me is either tough love or reassuring love. Tough love is mean but I suppose it shows that someone cares and reassuring love is reminding me that someone cares. My Dad had tough love. He was very structured and wanted the best for his kids. It was hard to see that when everyone else was getting to do this and that and we were getting denied some of what we thought were pleasures. I'm sure there were a few things that he could have let us do and I would have turned out the same as I am now but the things he did keep us out of was trouble. He made she we never got in trouble. He had a strict curfew for my brother and me. We had to be home when he said or he revoked our privileges. Tough love or not we turned out to be respectful adults. Now reassuring love is more necessary for me from my significant other. Letting me know that you still love by saying so or by thinking of me when you are out by picking up ice cream lets me know that you still want me around and that you still care and love me. Being reassured makes me feel comfortable with my significant other and makes me want to continue to work towards a happy life together.
